Peace in the Eye of the Storm

Peace in the Eye of the Storm

Boy I tell you what, I couldn’t have picked a better time of year to write on this subject, the time of year when Mother Nature hits us with mighty punches, from tornadoes, to severe thunderstorms, to the most deadly storms of all Hurricanes or typhoons depending on which side of the world you live on. Personally I am truly fascinated with storms, tornadoes I would go out and be a weather spotter, and yes I truly do respect the dangers, but I am still fascinated with them. But there is one storm that truly signifies this topic and that is of course the hurricane. First I will share some cool information that I came across. Hurricane winds begin to be clocked at 74 M.P.H, boy I tell you what, where I live that would certainly take down most of my trees in my yard, let alone knock power lines down from those fallen trees. Most hurricanes will reach a maximum of 150 M.P.H. if not stronger, a direct hit will usually end up in total devastation, including massive inland flooding. But the most fascinating thing about terrible storms such as hurricanes is that, they have a peaceful side to them and that my friends is part of this subject matter, usually a 20 mile circumference within this massive storm, The Eye of the Storm, where you will witness true peace and tranquility.

How is the peace in your life right now, is it utterly peaceful with no problems of this world and spiritually, or is it like Job’s life? No matter what good things you are doing, living right, feeling like you are doing right by God, you are being attacked, strickened, day in and day out. Nothing you are doing seems like it is good enough. Well that was also the life of Job, what happened with Job is that Satan was so confident that he could sway Job away from God, he challenged God of the attempt. So God accepted the challenge with Satan telling Satan that if he failed he was to go away from Job forever. Satan came at Job with all he had, not only bringing afflictions to Job, but also to his extended family. Job went through trials and tribulations that I really truly do not think that most of us sitting here would have endured and would have caved into Satan. Job through constant and fervent praying never questioned or blamed God for all of Satan’s attacks, but He certainly reminded God that he would remain faithful regardless how powerful the storms in his life would get. I feel the eye of Jobs storm happened while he was praying, and that the more he prayed the larger and more peaceful the eye of the storm became, until the blessed day that Satan gave up and gave Job back to God. The storms in our lives will always seem so much larger than its peaceful eye. That is why we must stand strong in our beliefs, never giving in to Satan but always through the power of prayer and our growing faith in God to redirect those storms right out to sea away from us forever, now that is the true peaceful eye of the storm that Satan will never be able to penetrate.

Here are a few short scriptures to meditate on when facing your storms:

Ps. 62:5-8 “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.”

Ps.139:10 “Even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”

James 3:17-18  “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure ; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, fullof mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peace makers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”

2 Sam. 22:31 “As for God, His way is perfect.”

Is. 57:19 “I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the Lord.

Those were some great short scriptures that will help keep you in the peaceful perspectives of life. Now we are going to take a look at another great and powerful short scripture and pick it apart word for word, then you will have a better and more powerful understanding of this scripture to better help keep your life in peace and harmony with God.

Is 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.”

You ‘the lord’ Will ‘not maybe, not probably, not shoulda, woulda, coulda, but will’ keep ‘give, guard, preserve, protect’ In ‘the end all, the be all, the all-important IN CROWD, Perfect ‘constant, true, complete, and whole, it means finished “thy will be done”, Peace ‘center of God’s will, Acts 22:14 “The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know His will.” God has this’ Those ‘Us, his followers, believers, children, His own’ Whose ‘ownership word, possessive word, those who have taken the next step with their minds intact’ Minds ‘A terrible thing to waste if left unchecked by the holy spirit’ Are ‘sweeps away any sense of maybe’ Steadfast ‘steady, faithful, but steadfast sounds so much more desirable’ Because ‘the why, the how, the answer, They ‘us, this is what we gotta do’ Trust ‘The T word found all throughout scripture, putting down our shield of defense and picking up God’s, Psalms 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” In ‘Psalm 22:5 “In you they trusted and were not put to shame.” ,you have to trust IN something or someone’ You ‘notice the last word in this verse is also the first, the one who makes everything possible, YES, YOU LORD. YOU ALONE ARE TRUSTWORTHY.’ Wow, we just took a relatively short verse, a verse that for most is not so easily understood, picked it apart word for word and now miraculously came to light like never before. This verse is ‘perfect peace’ like no other verse in the bible, a verse worth memorizing, living and breathing for that perfect peace in your life.

In closing, Hurricanes come and go thanks to Mother Nature, is weather a curse against humanity because of our sinful ways? Maybe! Even as you have seen in this post, even major weather events have a peaceful inner core to them, so why not us. Too many times we think in our selfish minds that we can deal with our problems on our own. That is what Satan wants us to do, for at those moments in our lives that is when Satan can and will attack, when we are at our weakest moments, that one small hole in our spiritual armor, and attack He will. So instead of doing stuff on our own, why not increase those peaceful moments in our lives by silencingthe storms through God’s Word, fervent praying and giving up ALL of our junk in our lives up to Him. Stop being so stubborn, quit doing the impossible on your own, and give it ALL up to your Lord and Savior.

AMEN
